The inspiration for this mystery? None other than Gatsby himself. He might not actually solve real life crimes (yet), but he does stare intensely at empty corners, bark at anyone who dares exist near our front door, and offer withering looks when dinner is late. Frankly, it would be suspicious not to write a book about him.
